You’re NOT Voting for Joe Biden!

I wrote most of this essay before the debate (which made me cry) before Chevron, before the Supreme Court’s decision crowning Donald Trump king, before a shooter made Trump a pretend martyr, and before today, which greeted us with Judge Cannon’s legal nonsense and the elevation of J.D. Vance.

Since that debate, there has been more hand-wringing on the part of Democrats than a muscular man twisting a washcloth. Biden is decrepit. He’ll never make the case for himself to the necessary swing voters. Youth are even more disenchanted. Did you see the debate? We need to be behind Biden now with all the news we can share, all the dollars we can spare, and all the voters we can get there.

There is no false equivalency between Republicans and Democrats. Democrats have not advocated violence, and Trump’s being grazed by a bullet does not suddenly make him sympathetic. (Did you see that Nazi salute on his way down the stairs? No? Roll tape.)

It’s true that Joseph R. Biden’s name will be at the top of the ballot in November. There are many folks out there who don’t want to vote for Joe Biden, for various reasons. He’s just too old. He has blood on his hands for Gaza, they say. The Democratic Party always depends…
