Amber Ruffin, who I don't know, has gotten some of the story wrong. Private schools were definitely a "thing" well before Brown v. Board, and they served to uphold class supremacy--wealthy, socially privileged whites getting away from everybody else and preparing themselves for Ivy League educations.
The answer isn't to avoid sending your children to "white spaces," but to send more of them. There should be no such thing as "white spaces." That only reinforces the belief that there can be spaces exclusively for "them." What is "loving everything that's white?" Does that mean the symphony, art galleries, B&Bs in the country? Should we deny ourselves certain experiences becuase there are a lot of white people there? No. Get out there in large enough numbers so that it is definitely "our" space too.
