"But still, each of these films fucked us up more deeply than the filmmakers ever could have imagined when they got the green light to produce these joints. In order of release date rather than lasting damage, here they are:"

He, himself said that he was blaming these five films, all of which were either based on books written by black authors or were original screenplays penned by black writers. It wasn't "white media" or white movie producers that made these films what they were, and Mr. Saint Vincent, who appears to hate everything, seems to have forgotten the origins of these works. They didn't appear fully formed in the mind of some white media mogul; they belonged to US first, and they're based on what are real-life experiences for many blacks. Did we really not have violence and molestation in our communities before these films were produced? Do you believe that black men were not abusive to women before it was portrayed in these films?

Do the media glorify white women? Of course they do. Does that mean that black men did not already desire the "treasure" that they were not supposed to possess? News flash. They did.

The media sells things because people buy them. They buy them for a myriad number of reasons, many of them not healthy. A small, domestic car will take you to the same destination as a fancy foreign model. Despite the brand of shoes you like, how many pairs of them do you need? Does your clothing have names on it that you want to show off to other people? It may be the media's "fault" in that they sell them, but that people buy them because they have allowed the media to exploit their emotions is another thing entirely. We don't control the media, but if we think critically enough, then we don't have to allow them to control us.

Now, let me remind both you and Mr. Saint Vincent again that all of these films originated from black writers. Don't blame them for writing what they know. They're not imagining it. It happens to us.
