David, I'm sometimes gloomy about America's future, particularly because VOTER INDIFFERENCE, not Democratic indifference, has brought this ridiculous situation about. I'm with you on the marches and editorials. If we had gotten our butts out in 2016, then we wouldn't be dealing with this now, or at least not to the degree that we are now. The people who most need to read your essay are most likely not on Medium worrying about the future of democracy, but perhaps those of us who do worry can spread the word. Let's get started.
May I share an organization with you? I volunteer with an organization called Force Multiplier. We raise funds for Democratic candidates in "flippable" House and Senate races, and we fund both local and national voter empowerment organizations as well. I suppose you could call us old hippies who haven't yet given up the fight. We try to keep folks informed, and active. Please spread the word about us. We'll be on the streets, and since we're mostly retired, we can all go to jail!
