Ellarwee, I don't understand what you're asking. I don't care about men's preferences, which may be based on patriarchy and misogyny and I darn sure don't care about hewing to Biblical traditions. You are asking me to make a false choice, because I don't subscribe to the "silent partner" belief.

What I care about is whether or not parents contribute to their children's intellectual growth by speaking to them frequently and positively. Sadly, the lower the income the less helpful the speech, and we don't need to be rich to improve upon that.
