American English and British English may not use the same vocabulary some of the time, but their sounds (the phonology) are the same. Further, having considering the amount of time Brits spent exploiting India in country, I'll bet that Brits know how to pronounce Indian names just fine--if they want to. Just as Americans can pronounce Kamala Harris's name, if they wanted to.
That must be why Nimarata Nikki Randhawa Haley decided to go by "Nikki." (Which is not actually pronounced "Nicky." She lets Americans get away with that one, too.
