F'irst of all, if I'm factually correct, then I'm correct. No, "Presumption of innocence means just what it says. It means that we put aside our feelings and wait for the presentation of evidence on both sides. As a commentator pointed out this evening, millions of people witnessed Jack Ruby shoot Lee Harvey Oswald on live television. I'm old enough to remember that incident.

No one who saw that doubted that Ruby had shot Oswald. He had the privilege of the "presumption of innocence," but it did not mean that he was actually innocent. "Presumption of innocence" is a legal term. It is not a statement of fact.
