Francis, I don't know where your town is, and I'm sorry that NAFTA, perhaps, killed it, but I wrote pure facts. We can blame Clinton if we wish, but employers chase the most work at the least expense, and they've been doiong so for decades. Remember, elites worked children 10-16 hours a day in this country before those "liberal," job-killing child labor laws.

Also, I don't know what color collar you claim, but people who are hourly employees better get used to earning LESS. Trump may say "No taxes on overtime," but he says that because he and his business cronies will ELIMINATE the conditions for which overtime pay is rewarded. I don't know how much of a difference it would have made in ithe votes of my blue-collar friends, but they will reap what they have sown.

I have very deliberately not bought clothing made in China since 2019, and I use Amazon only for Kindle, a habit I'm trying to break. People need to pay attention to where their goods come from and need to examine their spending habits. After all, most of us want to buy at the lowest cost we can, but we need to ask why what we buy costs so little and who pays for it in other ways. Maybe those kicks are really fly, but if an Indian child is, essentially a slave for 16 hours a day to make them, then maybe I don't need them after all.
