Harry and Meghan went to England because Harry's grandmother was celebrating a historic occasion. I believe they would have traveled even if they did not have two lovely children.

That balcony with the "working royals" looked pretty empty minus Harry and Meghan. It will be interesting to see what the familiy configuration will look like when the Queen dies.
