Ho-ho-Holier-than-thous will Give us a Second Trump Presidency
Haven’t we Learned Anything?
Super Mr. C. (aka, “Steadfast Mister”) and I live in a very progressive neighborhood, and we are grateful to be here. We not only have all the right yard signs, but we also have the right actions. Children’s toys are outside for anyone to share and use. We smile at one another while putting out the compost (when not using it in our gardens.) We are super voters, and the community went 98% for Hilary Clinton in 2016. In this month of March, we will celebrate both Pi Day and Holi with communal food and will gleefully throw dye at anyone within arm’s reach. We’re a pretty good lot, and, for the most part, we’re aware enough both to make fun of ourselves and to be appropriately humble.
HOWEVER, however,
some friends share a few too many pictures of their trips to Cuba, accompanied by sincere narratives of the wonderful quality of life there. Even now they still attempt to explain away the mass murder and excesses of the Soviet Union. Every weekend without fail, they take smiling selfies of themselves holding homemade signs at rallies for righteous causes. Some of that sincerity is harmless, but right now this zeal could do us real damage.
