How did so many people who should have known better not have seen it coming?

I can’t understand anyone who didn’t see this coming. I’m just a guy off the street, and I’ve suspected since Reagan, known since Bush, and been 100% certain since the reaction to Obama. Joe was there. How did he miss it?

How did so many people who should have known better not have seen it coming? If there were any people who were "blind," it's the ones who stayed home in 2016 because they weren't "excited" about Hillary Clinton.
