I also taught for decades, as an elementary school teacher, I spent at least 50 hours a week working IN the building, and Heaven only knows how many hours OUT of the building I worked. If every single teacher nationwide "quiet quit" for a week, perhaps people would appreciate how much work we do.

Sigh. The reason politicians buckled to public pressure to declare COVID over when it wasn't is because of the numbers of parents who got tired of assisting in their children's education. It wasn't "home school." Teachers still planned the lessons, carried them out on line, evaluated work, and kept records. Yet folks who now know who difficult it is will still insist that those extra hours are the teacher's job.
