I appreciate your taking the time to read and respond. Thank you! Yes. I took black culture to task, but I also reported that the studies distinguish the findings as related to income.

When I told my obervation of the young boy with his grandparents, I'm going to assume, and I gave many examples, that in the 30 minutes, plus, that they spent with him, surely they could have found something to say to him. I'm black. My parents are black. As middle, if not upper-middle class blacks, they had more opportunities to be in the presence of white people, and had more opportunities, sadly, to suffer from their disses. Yet, they had time to turn their children into nerds.

I've said this to nearly every respondent, and I'll say it to you. PLEASE check out Dr. Ron Ferguson's program, which takes place in the context of providing learning support to lower-income and stressed black families. He is proving my point (or I'm proving his.)
