I consider myself to be a person of high ideals. I also consider myself a person who understands that while ideas are noble, it's pragmatism that wins. The Senate is 50-50. Even one lost vote means that the other side wins. Sometimes Bernies proposes what he proposes KNOWING that it will be voted down, but that he will still get credit as a "noble warrior" for proposing it in the first place. Bernie knows how to be pragmatic, too.
