I don't want to come across as naive, but I've suggested in the past that blacks in the know in the community form clubs--voters' clubs, where voters' parties, or whatever we want to call them, to gather people with all the necessary materials to do what we have to do to register to vote. Do we need to apply for absentee ballots? Get a bunch of requests in one place, have a party, and get everybody there to fill one out.

Do we need a notary signature on a voting document? Get a notary to your house, have all of your friends bring their documents, and get 'em all done at the same time. We don't need 1,000 people, some of whom don't necessarily know what they need to do, working on it one at a time. We need to gather people with folks who know and get stuff done together. Time effective, cost effective, and effective!
