I doubt that the writer hates being white. He's pretty brave to call racism what it is in front of other white people. One of the reasons systemic racism still obtains is because white people are more afraid of being shunned by other whites than they are of anything else. They would rather be poor, be less served by the government, and to have their own options limited rather than not to be racist.
