I get you. I am your opposite. I am a teensy black woman, and upon first seeing me, I get labeled, OUT LOUD, as "cute." I am immediately non-threatening and am generally mistaken as a mascot or a doll. (Except by those white people who get frightened by any person of color in the "wrong space.") People get offended when I act out of the "cute doll" narrative. Either stereotype is demeaning, and just that; a stereotype.
