I have pointed out to other white people, not just to you, that when I find an eagerness to look for “other reasons” to interpret a black person’s experience on their part, they are going to dismiss the incident as “something else” in the first place. If that’s not you, then good for you. If it could be, however, then give your own point of view a thorough examination.
