I live in a state where marijuana is legal for both medicinal and recreational use. One of the ironies that hit me hard was attending a neighborhood meeting on licensing a marijuana dispensary. A retired police official was now the Head of Security for the marijuana corporation. "Imagine", I thought. "He made money arresting people for buying it, and now he gets to make even more money by selling it."

Fortunately, even as we write this, I believe that the Biden administration is trying to go farther in releasing people who are in prison for marijuana-related offenses, and some cities and states are ensuring that "minority" corporations have access to financing and ownership. Some country, huh?
