If there's only one thing this country could do, it would be to give some guaranteed income to poor families. Children have to suffer because their parents are poor. In what universe should that make sense? Why should they have less healthy food, underheated homes, and be made daily to be confronted by seeing other children who obviously have so many more goods and privileges? Can we, at least, stop shaming children?
