I'll tell you, after I spent the first 20 years of my life being a Plain Jane, I distrusted people who were taken in by the pretty, especially men. I actually had a guy I knew in college approach me and say (and I'm not making this up) "Hey, didn't you used to be ugly? Now you're pretty. We should go out." All I could do was shake my head. I tried not to take advantage of it, believe it or not, but I'm not going to claim I was perfect. I'll say this for myself; I never asked for anything or presumed I was going to get favoritism. As we all know from observation, people automatically give you a pass.
