I'm from Washington, DC, and when I first saw Gwynn Oaks, I was reminded of Glen Echo Park, also in Maryland, and also segregated at the time. I also remember the Spiro Agnew for Governor campaign. It's hard to think of him as the liberal alternative, isn't it?
