I'm sure that your son is intelligent and perceptive. He's probably figured out why he's excluded from group events. Black children, some who are as fortunate as your son, and some who are not, figure out where their "placed" in society. Not where their place is, but where others want it to be. It's what we, as black parents, have to do, and passing on that message is one of our saddest duties. The ONLY THING we can do to mitigate such stupidity is to let them know that the other people are wrong, but that unkind cut will always be there. Tears.
