I'm with Wanda S, Jaron. Who hurt you and turned you into such a self-hater? Anyone who believes that he's going to convince people that his point of view is correct needs to turn off the spout of vitriol that labels other blacks "boootlickers," "tools," and accuses them of being fooled just because their viewpoint is different than yours. Calling the rest of us names will surely bring us to your point of view!

What do you think you see that other black folks don't? If you think that other black people believe that Judge Brown-Jackson is going to change US laws ALL BY HERSELF, then either you're the fool or you think that we are. The Supreme Court already has an overwhelming conservative majority, and her presence isn't going to change that. It will, HOWEVER, change the conversation in every deliberation that this current court has beginning in October.

Do you really believe that we (particularly those of us who are older and more experienced than you) are not aware of how US society works? Seriously? What makes you think that YOU know what's going on in either Barack Obama's head or Judge Brown-Jackson's? Are you going to discount out of hand the enormous wall of prejudice that these, and other distinguished blacks, face in getting our agenda across? And, where do you get the information that black women are leaving the Democratic party? WE'RE NOT. Black men, on the other hand, voted for Donald Trump at a higher rate in 2020 than they did in 2016. Do you know what that means to me? It means that black men endorse misogyny and get-rich-quick schemes, and that we black women need to help them get their heads on straight.

I'm giving full disclosure here. I am an active black Democrat, and I will continue to be so. IF WE HAD SHOWN UP TO THE POLLS IN 2016 THE WAY WE DID IN 2008, then we wouldn't have to claw our way back from the insults of the Trump administration now. Do I expect Nirvana from white politicians? No. I know that the Democrats have to walk a very tight line to keep the almost-non-existent majority they have. They need to include the black and brown constituency in serious decision-making while knowing that when they do so, threatened whites leave the party. Do I know that the more power we give to Democrats in the House, the Senate, and the White House, then the more power we give to ourseleves? Yes. OUR PRESENCE IS OUR POWER, and I am not going to let a "foundational" naysayer try to convince people otherwise.

My fear is that responding to you only serves to compensate you, so I definitely won't be saying anything else to you. Shalom and Salaam. Now, if you can't go in silence, which I know you won't, then please go in peace.
