It never fails. No matter how many times you've experienced an insult, and no matter how many times you know it's about "race," there is always some white person willing to interpret your experience for you and tell you that you've gotten it wrong. "You just attribute everything to race, and there is obviously some other reason for what happened to you." If they're that eager to try to explain it away, then they know why it happened.
