It's going to have to get worse, I guess, but how much worse can it get before people get it? I live in the Northeast, and we are experiencing the longest run of 90+ temperatures and lack of rainfall in everyone's memory. We read in the paper about water wars in other parts of the world, and we still don't get it.

I, too, know many Ph.Ds, but they tend to be more on the activisit pole. It's the "regular people" I worry about, who seem to want to deny the earth's warming so that they don't have to change their habits of consumption. Maybe a $600/month water bill will do the trick.
