Kathy, you don't have to look very hard to find examples of both black men and women who have been sidelined by white women because their needs as "white" took precedence over their recognition of the intelligence, contributions, and talents of people of color. After all, where you sit is where you stand, and your chair as a "white" person still gives you unearned privileges.
