Manchin is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the coal industry. He does not represent the interestes of his constituency. However, West Virginians care more about their present jobs than either future jobs or alternative energy. They are going to continue to return him to the Senate--if not him, then bet on an even more conservative Republican taking the seat.
