Most people won't say that part out loud. It's that Barack Obama "couldn't close the deal," or "wouldn't stand up for what he believed." Why can't we just admit what the Republican plan was and how it was so enthusiastically carried out?

The American public, ever-shallow to its detrimenet, supported Trump only because heh had ame recognition. Republican pols were willing to tolerate him (then praise him, then praise his invisible clothing) because he'd make it po ssible for them to do what they wanted to do. Trump is not responsible for "Trumpism." He's just the figurehead on a ship that was already built.
