My go-to thought is to take the man aside, ask him if he works on commission, and tell him you're sorry he's missing out on your really big purchase. Then, I'd go to a competing cosmetic brand for a similar shade--and there's ALWAYS a similar shade from another brand. If you don't want my business, then you don't want my money--you're the help; I'm the profit.
