My husband and I are also an interracial couple. He's a big, white guy, and I'm a teensy-weensy Black women. He is looked upon as a "race traitor," and we have gotten the stink-eye from more than once from some indignant blue-collar male who feels that it's his duty to let us know that he disapproves. My husband carries a big mouth and an attitude when provoked. I feel more comfortable with first ignoring (hey, your seed fell upon a stone, bud) then using my camera. A camera is powerful, as the subject doesn't know who you are or what you might do with the image. How in the world did we live before the convenience of cameras in phones?
