Nimrata Randhawa (aka, Nikki Haley) is a lying hypocrite, and she knows it. First of all, you have never heard of her as "Nimrata," which would be much less acceptable to white Americans. Second, if you look at her photo, you see that she is a lighter-skinned Indian with a pretty face and is, therefore, less subject to prejudice than darker-skinned Indians. Third, although I would not call Haley's success a fluke, neither would I call it an example of "bootstrapping." Randhawa became the CFO of her family's own business, and she managed to parlay her position into wider roles by becoming active in local and state business organizations. It is not proof of any particular intelligence or political acumen; she just massaged the contacts that were available and got lucky.

As many wealthy business professionals do, Randhawa put herself in the political arena, and, due to her Anglicized name and light skin, which Republicans love, quickly rose in the ranks, becoming Governor. She was a Tea Partier, which made her popular at the time, and because her name was big in Republican circles, she was again promoted to a position for which she had absolutely no background; that of Ambassador to the U.N.

Racism has different "flavors." Republicans LOVE to point to individuals such as Namrita Randhawa and Tim Scott as evidence of their lack of racism, but all the parties involved know better. She is in no position to tout her "accomplishments" as proof of the lack of racism in the U.S. There are, doubtless, many more racists here than not. They will not be admitting that any time soon.
