No, I wasn't. I'm a regular voter at my polling place, so I'm never asked for i.d. I TAKE IT WITH ME ANYWAY, though, because I want to be prepared if I'm challenged. Were you prepared? If you were, then someone's challenging you comes to nothing.
I'm advocating that we stop complaining about the hurdles put in our way and do something about them. Find out what the voting requirements are and make sure that you meet them. Get together with a group, go over the requirements together, and make sure that everybody has it right. Use a sample ballot to show others how to complete it properly, and ensure that everybody knows where to sign.
At the risk of being disrespectful, if there were a $1,000 waiting for us on the other side of turning that ballot in, most people, of any color or persuasion, would find a way to get it right. Our future is worth more than $1,000. If I'm lying, then feel free to ignore me. If I'm telling the truth, then make no excuses and get to work.
