Republicans don't believe for a moment that Trump won the presidency in 2020. However, there is no more convenient excuse for their bad behavior than the claim that they're "saving democracy." I'm as idealistic as the next Democrat, but pragmatism is what gets things done. We've got to stop blaming (no matter how much fun it is) and start working. Perhaps your article will wake up some snoozing idealists.
