She writes like this all the time, and for the life of me, I can't understand why any black person living in the US (or anywhere else) who experiences what we experience can then tell us that we "whine" and complain.

I live a pretty charmed life for a black person. I enjoy economic privileges that many whites don't, but I still get the insults of racism nearly every time I leave my house, and I know I'm not imagining it. May I share something with you? I wrote it a while ago, but I think you may enjoy it.

(And there were those white people who responded who told me that I was "looking for" racism. Sigh.
