So I'm reading the comments, and, yet again, white people have made it about THEM. The author is not telling white people not to talk. She IS, saying, however, that brown and black people have experiences to which you cannot relate (and given some of the comments on this page) don't want to. No, your addition to the conversation is either to "explain away" the incidents that we know are based on skin color or to castigate us for not allowing you to have your "say." Some things never change.
