I happen to have more-than-mastered "the King's English," but I know that those who don't speak it should not be judged harshly for it. There are plenty of whites who don't speak "proper English" and no one assumes that they are all wrong or unacceptable. Perhaps it is the hue of the speaker that is being judged more than the meaning of the speech.
