Southern refugees don't need to be refugees from a shooting war. They are refugees from violence from many different countries, much of which has been exacerbated by US activities. I'm happy to take double or triple the number of Ukrainian refugees that Biden has proposed. However, we take others who have been waiting, and in inhumane conditions, first. Not everyone looking for asylum at the Southern border is from Central or South America. Some have traveled from other overseas places.
