Thank you very much for sharing your experience. Sometimes I cringe at what I hear people say to children and the tone they use. I believe that some readers will feel that I'm attempting to shame the Black community when I'm simply relating what is. Cultural habits are hard to break, but we need to start with acknowledging that there's another, and better, way to be.
