Thanks for reading, Mr. Pray. Not discounting anything you might interpret, but I notice that white responders (and I don’t know if you’re white or not; I’m just guessing) react to the security guard incident, probably because it’s the one that could be considered most open to interpretation. Few comment on the other four, which are very easily observed but not as innocently explained.

I don’t write a lot about my biography, but I have been married to a tall, white, good-looking, well-educated male for 38 years. I spend a lot of time in “white spaces” and by virtue of my husband, I am often treated as an “honorary white person,” because of course, my husband’s status must be respected, and I’m included. I’m treated quite differently when I’m by myself. I’ve had enough experiences under both circumstances to know when my skin color is the salient factor in how I’m treated. All I ask is that white people attend to the daily interactions that for them are routine, but that for me are occasions to be “dissed,” whether or not the offender is aware. And that’s the point. The offender doesn’t have to be aware. It’s in their head.
