That's an interesting perspective. Your response makes me wonder if you read the entire essay. Perhaps the "new" mermaid will get some butts in seats, but the millions of people whose butts are hurt will most likely stay home or watch their favorite mermaid on DVD.

I love the term "woke." I don't use it derisively. I'm proud of being woke. I used it in a certain sense, which is why I enclosed it in quotation marks.
