The Corporation for Public Broadcasting was ONE of many sources of funding for "Eyes on the Prize." The documentary series, which is absolutely a masterpiece if you've seen it, was conceived and filmed by Henry Hampton's production company, Blackside. CPB didn't "shape" the series. It is Hampton's.

The recognition that the battle was far from over came with "Eyes on the Prize, II." It is equally as powerful as Eyes, I, but because the narrative is not a chronological story of struggle, as was the first, it seems less "organized" and "victories" are harder to count. However, I can promise you that both series were definitely framed by the people who participated in the struggle.
