The Most Hated Writer on Medium is… Me?
(No, I’m not that important)
I didn’t ask for this.
But I got it anyway.
There are many different types of Medium writers. There are Argumentative Medium writers, there are Talkers, there are Warriors, Uninfluencers, Comrades, Truth Tellers, and even people who use their “government names.” I know from reading comments that all of these folks have their admirers and their detractors. That’s what happens when you have a point of view and you put your work on public venues. Having feelings about that comes with the territory.
Some people will read you to learn.
Some people will read you to confirm their point of view.
Some people will read you expressly to refute you.
Some people will respond to you to laud you.
Some people will respond to you to expand your point.
Some people will respond to you because their habit is to troll for viewpoionts with which they disagree.
Some people will respond to you not only to disagree with you, but to try to embarrass you because they want to feel “superior” in some way.
