The naysayers not only do not want Supreme Court decisions to be one sided, but they also want the conversations leading to decisions to be one sided. I'm pretty sure that many Republicans believe, either overtly or subconsciously, that a black woman simply could not possess the same degree of intelligence that they believe they do. When I heard Judge Jackson-Brown's opening statement, it brought tears to my eyes (and to her justifiably proud husband's.) She will certainly be a more fruitful addition to the current Court than have the last few Associates. Let's wish her well, and hope that potential naysayers will be ashamed of their obstruction and choose to abandon it.
