The Spurned Woman had her Revenge. It was not Served Cold.
Word has it that revenge is a dish best served cold. Maybe. Maybe not. She had her revenge. She served it hot. I got the message. Let me tell you how she did it.
Super Mr. C. (aka, Steadfast Mister) and I are the parents of three, mostly happy, felines. There is a truth known, but rarely acknowledged, when cats are in two-parent families. Cats have personalities and preferences. They can prefer one parent to the other, and the preferred parent is (secretly) pleased about this. What is voiced as a complaint is often a “humble brag” about how which little ball of shedding coat demands so much of our time. While parents can easily love their four-legged children equally, the children make their love for their favorite parent obvious. This is not to brag, but who doesn’t adore being adored?
Breeza, a downy girl marked like a Holstein cow, loves her Mommy. She will lounge by me for long stretches of time, punctuated by many wet-nosed bunts to my face. My eyes will swell in love and histamines. She likes to have her little white underarms tickled and reacts with kangaroo kicks, bites, and punctures. Love hurts.
Breeza, and her companions, Lili and Quito, do not like for us to leave them. Mr. C. and I, old retired folks, don’t go out much. When we stay in, they greet a closed door with kitten-faced…
