This statement is general and unwarranted. "Ebonics" is not a "language of its own," it is one of many dialects in the country, all of which are recognized as English, whether or not they are "approved" by those who speak the most common dialect. How do you know that these speakers have a "limited vocabulary?" I'm not a big fan of rap, but though I have heard its creators speak in an African-American vernacular, I also have to admit that many of them have spectacular vocabularies and impressive verbal skill.

I get your point. Black folks have been unthinkingly religious, and that lack of criticism closes us to people and experiences that would enrich them. I really do get you. However, there is no need to be so general and offensive. Your point would be better received had you written it with less vitriol.
