True confession. I've never seen "The Bachelor." I've only seen its promos, where a bunch of women who are not selected by the Bachelor as a prospective bride weep, moan, play vicious tricks, and badmouth one another.

The people of England remind me of those spurned aspirants. When the Duke was single, then women, their mothers, their fathers, their relatives, could all dream of welcoming him into the family and associating with a royal, whether that dream was realistic or not. Now that the Duke is not only off the market, but also married to a "Colored," many Britons have lost their collective mind and placed themselves in that familiar, racist crouch. Megan shouldn't be embarrassed, and perhaps she won't be, but she can still be hurt, which is what that spurned citizenry has in mind.
