Very few K-12 teachers, and fewer K-12 students have the ability either to "teach" or to apply CRT, as it is a method of examining US laws based on the belief that "race" is not a biological given, but a social construct.
While teachers at the K-12 level should all be equipped to teach Critical Thinking, which would enhance our understanding of all topics, CRT is something else entirely, and we need to stop mistaking it for US History. That is what Republicans want us to do. They are happy to rile up their constituents with a "bogeyman" term they don't understand. I'm not arguing against Critical Thinking. I'm all for it, but misunderstanding what CRT is and "advocating" for it at the K-12 level is just a mistake.
