What an interesting, and idealistic article. I like many of your ideas, but they would require angels to implement rather than mere humans. Not only do politicians shape public thought, but public thought drives political agendas. Many politicians are painfully aware of what needs to take place in the long term for society to succeed, but they fear the "tyranny" of the short-term voter, who is only too happy to vote out an elected official who discusses the need to address the climate crisis or the need to repair and rebuild crumbling infrastructure.
Sadly, we cannot depend on most people to do what is best for their own long-term good, much less the long-term good of others or of the nation. I would like to move to Canada. Perhaps you can adopt my husband and me, and we can help to implement your more use r-friendly system of government.
