When our local CVS installed a couple of self-service registers, my husband and I began petitioning neighbors and store patrons to write headquarters and DEMAND that they remove the self-service registers. IT WORKED! We are the only CVS of which I know with no self checkouts. Next we're going to work on Whole Foods. If they're so socially conscious, then they need to give people jobs.
